Hopkins Grammar School
The Class of 1965
| The 40th Reunion of the HGS class of 1965 took place on Friday May 6 and Saturday 7, 2005. It was an extraordinary event that was class focused, full of new ideas, exciting, at times very moving, and always very interesting. | The two day
event began with the opportunity to attend classes Friday morning and
afternoon. Paul O'Connell, Hutch, and John Mordes attended a Military History Class taught by Gerard Casanova. Click here to go to the photo album and archive of our Friday activities. |

Our class banner, which once hung at our graduation and then at reunion
dinners in the gym, has been transformed into a large photo that now
hangs with dozens of others in the Heath Commons. Nothing endures but change. Fugit tempus. |

Saturday was very special. Starting at 11, we gathered round and just started to talk about where we had been, what we were doing, and what we were thinking. We started in a lounge in the new Heath Commons, adjourned to the Media Center in the Malone Science Center to see on of Nick Doob's documentaries, and then kept on talking in the Cafe right up until the Distinguished Alumnus Award ceremony. The social hour and dinner were more conventional, but coming after such an extraordinary 2 days, it took on a warmth and festiveness that few of us had ever experienced at such an event.
